Default monk/anything easy assension build

Just bored, and decided to come up with builds to easy assension.
Well, just a short explaining of assension: you are basically going to fight yourself, which we called mirror. It will have all the same skills that you bring with you. It has the max strength of warrior and marksmanship from ranger. So, its pure physically attack would do a lot damage to a monk since we have the weakest armor of all. The whole idea of defeating your mirror is to not pack powerful attacks nor any healing spells. We don't want it to use attack spells against us and heal itself at the same time. We want to protect us from taking any damage and at the same time deal damage to the mirror.

I'll give build on monk/mesmer first, as it is the easiest.

1) You only need 2 skills: Empathy and Distortion.
Put all your attribute into Dominate and illusion magic. Cast Empathy on ur mirror first and then spam Distortion on yourself. Watch and see your mirror die. (Suggest you at least have the armor from Yak's Bend. You have 75% chance of avoid attacks, but still have 25% chance of taking damage.)

2) This is a fun build, purely for fun. The 55 monk build: Empathy and Protective Spirit.
Put major point into dominate and divine, and rest into protect. Since your a 55 monk, with protective spirt, you only take 5 damage per hit. With divine, you will also heal yourself at least 20 hp when cast it. So you will heal yourself and protect yourself at same time. Cast protective spirit on yourself first and then cast empathy on your mirrior. Then keep casting protective spirt when health is low. Watch your mirror die helplessly.

If you have other builds, feel free to show to everyone.

your #2 works. Your #1 i tried previously at a mid level and failed.

There is a nice guide about beating your dopple in community works. People having trouble with their dopple should look there as well.

Heres something funny i did...

I was a Mo/N at level 12 and i just put 4 enchantments in my skill bar so that the doppel uses them and doesnt get any energy regen but then i thought...
Why dont I add rend enchantments?
I cast all 4 enchantments on myself then went into the thing.
As soon as i went in he cast rend enchantments, brought him to half health.
Then he used awakining the blood(x2 sacrificing)
Then he dark pacted himself to death

You could also throw Healing Breeze onto your skill bar, since he won't use it unless he has degen on him...

It's not the fastest, but it's guaranteed.

Yep like most said just breeze and smiting nothing from your secoundary at all.Monk have the same armor level as all castor classes so don't have weakest except for the Necro Torrmentors.Monks have got to be about the secound easiest(sp) to do it other than Warrior or maybe Ranger being 2nd.

I must say, the easiest way for me was Mo/R, as it's what I was, I equipped 7 spirits and apply poison and used a bow, he was dead before he got 3 spirits done.

Not bad, I never thought of that. *writes down*

As long as the only heal you have is breeze, the doppleganger never uses it... So breeze and dmg skills makes it quite easy.. I'm surprised they never patched that, I assume it is a bug? This worked almost a year ago when I first started playing.

I just found out a rather interesting way to kill him... I've been running a 55 monk build, but all you need to do this is a regular monk build (has to be smiting, but hp can be normal):

Protective Spirit (I generally like ~5 in prot since you want this to last a minimum of 6-8 seconds)
Healing Breeze (don't need any pts in healing, you're fine without bringing this if you so desire)
Zealot's Fire (you'll see in a minute why)
Symbol of Wrath (see above)
Balthazar's Aura (see above)
Essence Bond (for energy since you will need the extra second or two)
Balthazar's Spirit (see above)
Blessed Signet (dopple doesn't attack you fast enough, this helps for that last little bit of dmg)

With this build, I can kill doppleganger in less than 20 seconds.

Here's How:

Throw Balth Spirit and E Bond on before you enter, then use Blessed Signet. Make sure you have full energy before going in to fight doppleganger. Use Zealot's Fire, then protective spirit, then enter the cutscene (i.e. the other two rocks should be lit while you're prepping, light 3rd one when done).

When you enter to fight him, simply run into melee with him and use Symbol of Wrath + Balthazar's Aura. I'm going to laugh if someone complains that he runs... he won't run away FAST ENOUGH. Even if he uses Prot Spirit (which, against me, he did 100% of the time) this will be easy. He should have almost no hp left anyway if he runs, so stay in melee with him, have Zealot's Fire on, and spam Protective Spirit and Healing Breeze like a fool.

This should all take less than 20-30 seconds.

EDIT: Just to add a parting word of advice: if you are not 55ing this, you do not want 105 hp if you cannot manage your energy, he will 1 shot you if you have 1-108 hp without prot spirit on. I found this out the hard way...he didn't attack me fast enough to keep my energy up (it's why Blessed Sig is in the build now).

No Problem, it's what I'm here for.

EDIT: Just to mention something about dopple not using Healing Breeze:

It's not a bug, the Guild Wars Monk AI has anything AI controlled with Healing Breeze only use Healing Breeze when it senses health degen, not when something takes damage. The reason for this is so that the healing henchmen and foes with Healing Breeze use solid healing to heal damage instead of using Healing Breeze, it's to make the game easier w/a monk henchmen and harder vs opponents with monk skills. Otherwise, when you're getting spiked, that henchmen monk will use Healing Breeze instead of Word of Healing on you, and that thing you're fighting will not try to use it's maximum healing skill to keep itself alive vs straight dmg.

I hope that was clear enough.

I went a different path with my lvl 11,
i brought scourge healing and set my smiting as high as possible, i had war 2nd and used savage slash with no points in sword to intrupt him when he tried to use scourge on me, i also brought bane sig to cause the initial damage and brought balthazars aura and then heal party and orison

as soon as duel was on i cast scourge, then ran to him and cast aura, then bane sig, he tried to cast scourge i int then proceeded to heal myself orison while he killed himself, the whole thing lasted like 15 secs
